中元节

09/08/2008 － Happy National Day!!! I would like to take this chance to wish Singapore "Happy Birthday" 

Other than this nation celebration, we have organize a Prayer Recitation Ceremony for this seventh month （中元节）. Prayer recitation is a powerful tool to ease the suffering of the souls and spirits, distribute merits to the needed ones, your loved ones etc. In Buddhism, its named as Fillial Piety Month, 孝子节。This seventh month, the chinese will pray to their departed loved ones, and would like to hold ceremonies like chant prayers, building merits transferred to them so that they could be freed from the torturous hell by reincarnate to another life soon. 

Our temple have been organizing such activity for many years. All of us are aware that it marks a respect for conducting this prayer. This is an act of 'Merciful Kindness' 慈悲喜舍。 To help '*those' in need

The program are as follows: 

10am: Arrival of guests

11am: Start of Ceremony, Prayer Recitation

12pm: Lunch Buffet (Vegetarian)

1pm: Auction & Interaction activity

2pm: 办道

WELCOME TO 开德佛堂

感谢天恩师德，that gives me the opportunity to open up this blog when my disciples told me to open up a blog to give updates and information to them even when they are not able to attend ceremonies and prayers. Given a second thought, i felt that its a good idea to do so, thus without hesitation, this is my very first creation. From this channel, I would like to spread more beneficial information to all bloggers as well as updates to everyone for them to know when's the coming activities and prayers, function etc. Do join me on the journey for a fun-filling and enriching path of cultivation
